Five members of the Beverly Hills based Dynamo Sports Club participated in the Judo Winter Nationals
held in La Verne, CA on Saturday, December 6, 2009.
Individual gold medals were awarded to Bagus Rahadian, who competed in the senior elite category, and
Sensei Boris Brezhnev, the team coach who competed in the master category. Armand Farrokh, due to a
questionable disqualification (the sleeves of his kimono were said to be approximately half an inch short),
was awarded a silver medal, despite the fact that he was undefeated. Impressively, Payton Bahk received
a bronze medal at his very first Judo competition. Both Farrokh and Bahk fought in the senior category.
James Teele fought in the master category but was injured in early rounds, forced to forfeit by injury default.
