News from July 2008 July 22. Team DYNAMO will participate in two very prestigious Judo tournaments in August. These are important events for all those who seek to advance in Judo ranking and meet new, tough competitors, and winners will earn berths to National competitions.

Participants will need to pay for the registration fees, transportation and other associated expenses of $120.00 for each of the 2 Judo competition, and bring the signed registration forms (to Sensei Brezhnev) no later than August 1. July 21. The Dynamo SAMBO Team had a very special practice yesterday, with special visitor, Dr. David Rudman. Dr .Rudman is the SAMBO Grand Master, President of Federation International Amateur SAMBO (FIAS) and American Amateur SAMBO Federation (AASF). He is also a Founder of the biggest SAMBO club in the world -"SAMBO-70", with 5000 SAMBO practitioners. Dr. Rudman is the Dynamo Ranking Member for about 50 years.

July 21. Congratulations! Five Dynamo SAMBO Team members have been selected to represent the United States at the World SAMBO Championship (Youth and Juniors), which will be held in Uzbekistan in October 9-13, 2008.

July 20. We are having a very special practice today, at 1 pm, with special visitor, Dr. David Rudman, President of SAMBO Federation (FIAS) and the American Amateur SAMBO Federation (AASF).
July 19. Our friend and world's best fighter, Fedor Emanlianeko, defeated Tim Silvia in Afflication's MMA fight in 36 seconds. Read more about Fedor in LA Times recent article. Sensei Brezhnev has been certified by US Judo Assoication as a rank examiner, authorizing him to examine and recommend for Black Belt promotions. July 9. July 1. There is no practice on July 4th. Have a safe and happy holiday. July 1. California State Wrestling Championship (Cal State Game) is on July 12 and 13 in San Diego (http://www.calstategames.org/s-wrestling.html). Team DYNAMO will be training with Beverly Hills High School Wrestling team in preparation for this important state-wide competition. And as team DYNAMO finished with in 5th place in the state (for clubs/dojos), we hope to replicate the same success in wrestling. July 1. Happy summer. While many are on summer break and traveling, team DYNAMO is still practicing and joining the Beverly Hills High School Wrestling team for workout and conditioning. Starting June 30, our typical practice schedules are (unless noted otherwise)
Monday, Wednesday & Friday
3:30 - 6:30 P.M. (SAMBO and Judo with Sensei Brezhnev and Coach Mead), or
Monday & Wednesday: 3:30 - 5:00 P.M (Folkstyle and Freestyle with Coach Kevin J. Villegas)
Tuesday & Thursday: 2:30 - 3:30 P.M. (Lifting weight and another conditioning with BHHS and Dynamo Coaches) Tuesday & Thursday 3:30.- 5:00 P.M. (Folk style and Freestyle with Coach Kevin J. Villegas)
If you are not already a Dynamo Club member, you must first join the Dynamo Club (see www.dynamoclub.com) in order to participate, and this is for insurance and liability reasons. Many of you are already working out with Sensei Brezhnev, for SAMBO and judo, and you should continue to do so if you are; however, if you are interested in wrestling also, Coach Kevin J. Villegas will be there from 3:30 to 5 P.M. Mondays through Thursdays.
All others please arrange a workable practice schedule with Sensei Brezhnev.
Private lessons, self-defense, youth developmental program schedules to be determined by Sensei Brezhnev.
